Q:

What membership levels do you offer?

A:

Associate Membership: This membership level is for families who wish to only attend field trips and social events. Field trips may have additional fees if applicable. Cost is $40 per family per semester.

Full Membership: This membership level is for families who wish to attend all co-op classes, field trips, and social events. Classes and field trips may have additional fees if applicable. Cost is $100 per family per semester.

What ages does the co-op serve?

A:

The co-op is currently for children ages 3-14. Children 4 and under will be enrolled in our preschool program. For younger siblings of enrolled students, we do offer a nursery and a younger preschool as well.

What are the parent requirements?

A:

For full members, parents are required to teach one class or assist in two classes every week for the entire semester. Parents are also required to help set up or clean up a few weeks each semester, or pay an additional opt-out fee. Families who are enrolled in the associate membership are required to sign up to clean up for at least one event every semester.

Q:

How often does the co-op meet?

A:

We meet weekly on Tuesdays. Fall semester runs end of August to November. Spring semester runs February to April. Each semester is 12 weeks long with a one week break in the middle. Classes meet from 9 am to 12pm, with a lunch break and recess, and then an optional afternoon class until 2pm.

Q:

What curricula do you use?

A:

We do not have a chosen curricula. Parents may choose to use a curriculum for the class that they are teaching, provided that the curriculum is secular and is approved by the director and academic coordinator.

Q:

What are your eligibility requirements?

A:

To qualify for membership for NW Indiana Homeschool Co-op, you must:

1. Be an active homeschooling family with at least one child being homeschooled.

2. Pay semester dues and all applicable class fees.

3. Teach one class or assist in two classes every week during the semester.

4. Serve on a committee or in a leadership position.
